Web3: B.S. or The Real Deal?

As the next wave of the internet comes closer to the forefront, there’s still a lot the world doesn’t know about Web3. But don’t fret; I have the details.

One thing we do know is you won’t require an account for every social platform. Rather, you’ll only need to create a sole social account to get into Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, shopping sites, and more.

Currently, the web is supported by massive corporate servers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS); but with Web3, those servers will be a thing of the past. Instead, the web may catalog your activities on the exact digital system that sustains cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum — blockchain. Furthermore, a central power won’t regulate this fresh internet iteration, indicating no sole entity will control it like Google, Facebook, and others mega-corporations oversee their kingdoms.

“So, where are we now?” You’re asking. At this time, the world resides in Web2, a place where tech goliaths maintain the bulk power of the market. Web1 birthed Web2 when we moved from simply reading info online to using social media and using the web as a place to create, develop, and end relationships. Web2 showed us that the internet could be another dimension of society that runs in parallel to the 3D, sensory lives we lead away from screens. As mentioned, Web3 will be even more incorporated into our lives.

I know what you’re thinking, “This sounds dangerous; I don’t want the internet more integrated into my life!” That said, Web3 is still only an idea, or possibly merely “vaporware,” a term for uber-hyped technology that hasn’t materialized yet. That said, if you’re against Web3, that’s a good thing.

But if you’re in favor of Web3, you may like the sound of what the next possible web iteration would bring to us. Like metaverses and crypto, the next installment of the web is the future.

Stay tuned for the next part of our Web3 talk!

Ps, if you’re looking forward to part two of “How to flip NFTs,” then stay tuned for that, too! That’ll be later this week.

Allow me, if I may, to put my Fiverr, Upwork, and Contra links here! Also, let me know if you need crypto and NFT content written for your blog (such as Medium!), website, or ebook! I’ve been a professional copywriter for over ten years.
